There were many fine performances
from COGST swimmers at the West District Age Groups
at Larkhall on 9th and 10th February 2002. The Club collected 15
gold, 18 silver and 12 bronze medals, with another 38 4th-6th
places. Top
performer from the boys was Charles Mills in the 13/14 years age
group taking 7 golds (400m free, 1500m, 100m and 200m fly, 100m
and 200m back, 200m IM ) and one silver medal (200m free).
Alasdair Reid also won gold in the boys 12 years and under 200m
fly and bronze in the 100m event. For
the girls, in the 12 years and under age group Chantal Carr won
5 gold medals (400m free, 100m and 200m fly, 200m and 400m IM)
and 5 silver medals (100m, 200m and 800m free, 100m and 200m
back) and Aileen Stirling took 2 gold (100m and 200m back)
4 silver medals (100m fly, 200m fly, 200m and 400m IM) and one
bronze (400m free). In the 13/14 years age group Suzanne
Robertson won 4 silvers (400m and 800m free, 200m fly, 400m IM)
and one bronze (200m back). 14
