Three Golds for Rebecca at the
 World University Games!

24th August  COGST swimmer Rebecca Cooke (right) won the World University Games 800m Freestyle today (Sunday 24th August) in Daegu, South Korea in a new World University Games Record time of 8:33.84s.

Rebecca, a student at Glasgow University, took the gold just under two seconds ahead of Hua Chen from China with Olga Beresnyeva from the Ukraine in third.

Rebecca has a tough schedule over the next few days, also competing in the 400 and 1500m freestyle, 400m individual medley and the 4x200m freestyle relay. Return to this page soon for details of her other events.
  
26th August 
Rebecca wins the 400m title at the Games in Daegu. The Glasgow swimmer took her second title of the World University Games again holding off the challenge of the Chinese swimmer, Hua Chen.
  
28th August  Rebecca takes bronze in the 400m individual medley. Yana Klochkova (Ukraine) the 400IM world record holder took gold with Maiko Fujino (Japan) in the silver medal position.
  
29th August  Rebecca finishes the Games in style, winning the 1500m title in a new World University Games and British Record time of 16:14.70! The Glasgow swimmer took her third title of the Games holding off the challenge of US swimmers, Adrienne Binder and Lauren Costella.
