| Chosen from the following Coaches Reports | ||
| Craig Workman (Silver)
Craig was moved from Skills Squad to Silver within a two week period. This was due to group movements, leaving many spaces in Silver Squad. Craig rose to the challenge and has encouraged and helped all the swimmers in his squad to achieve the same. His high energy levels and commitment to improvement has produced a dramatic effect on his fitness, technical ability and speed. He is committed to his training and to improving. He has been the driving force behind many of the squad's personal best times at time trials. Craig's attitude is first class. There are not many ten year olds who, after being disqualified at the West Districts, would still turn up for training, hungry for success. Craig is also the sort of person who will always be found at the edge of the pool at competitions, screaming his lungs out, if he thinks it will help the cause. |
||
| Siobhan McGuire (Gold Plus)
Her high attendance and commitment to self improvement has seen all of her times dramatically reduced. Her willingness to learn and ask questions has meant that she has worked her way up from Improver 2 to Scottish Age Group times within seven months. Siobhan has had a knock on effect on the rest of the squad. When she is around, the squad as a whole trains more competitively, aggressively and with higher commitment and determination. Her encouragement to others has resulted in her team mates hitting personal bests in training. Siobhan is a great asset to the squad and the City of Glasgow Swim Team. |

| Master of the Year | ||
| Sheila Aitken
After breaking her back at the European Masters Championships in Innsbruck last August, sheila has made a great comeback after seven months out of the water. At the World Masters in Munich in July, Sheila improved her 200 freestyle by 2 seconds and her 400 freestyle by 30 seconds after only four months training this year. This was a remarkable achievement.
