Sub Committee Development Group Meeting

The Development Group met again on Monday 14^th July and were joined by Steven Coulter, the newly appointed Club and Volunteer Development Officer from Culture and Leisure.  The key aims of the meeting were to familiarise Steven with COGST and to explore and determine strategies for a number of issues that will form the basis of the development plan.  These included -

• providing increased access to pool time at various locations throughout Glasgow

• the attraction and retention of coaches and the provision of a high quality coaching development programme

• seeking accreditation through the Scottish Swimming club development programme ‘SwiMark' (full details on their web site www.scottishswimming.com)

• training days and stroke sessions

• time trials and club championships

• links with Learn to Swim

We will keep everyone informed of all progress.  In the short term we do hope to be able to offer specific training days / stroke programmes.  Please check back as we will post all details on the web site as soon as we can.
