I have offered to help recruit officials for the Glasgow Primary Schools Competition which is being held at Whitehill Pool, Glasgow on Monday 27th February from 5pm.
This competition historically has always been poorly supported, primarily due to the fact that no-one gets asked along or knows about it!! Due to the fact that such a large number of City of Glasgow swimmers I felt that it would be good to try and drum up as much support as possible.
There is no electronic timing equipment and as a result in the past a number of swimmers have missed out on medals because of lack of timekeepers, judges etc.
I would be grateful if you would consider giving up a couple of hours of your time to help at this meet. This competition is not an accredited meet so even if you are not qualified as a time keeper it would be a good opportunity to shadow some more experienced time keepers and get an idea of what the role entails.
I do however appreciate that many of you work and therefore the timing may not be ideal, but if you can make it along on the 27th I would be grateful if you could let me know, just so that I have a rough idea of numbers attending. Please email me
